UK rail and AI. The technical side of other people’s online businesses. Thinking out loud about most of it.

I’ve spent years in UK rail — planning and operations across several train operating companies, mostly at the unglamorous end where the timetable meets reality. Lately I’ve been putting AI to work on the same problems, with a fairly low tolerance for the parts of it that are just noise.

Alongside that I look after the technical side of other people’s online businesses. Payment flows, integrations, websites — the tangle of tools a small business quietly runs on and nobody actually wants to own. I like owning it. It means someone else gets to stop thinking about it, which is usually what they wanted in the first place.

And I’m interested in people. How we work, how we parent, how we get in our own way. I make things and think out loud about them — some days sharper than others. Most of that ends up on Instagram.

What I do

Rail planning & AI

Access planning, possessions and the scheduling work that quietly eats weeks. Contracted through Project Experts Ltd, across multiple operators. Increasingly focused on where AI genuinely earns its place in this work — and where it doesn’t.

Tech & operations support

I run the technical side for people with online businesses — coaches, creators, small teams. Stripe and payment flows, getting tools that refuse to talk to each other to talk to each other, and keeping the whole thing upright through a launch. Working with a handful of people and happy to take on a few more.
